My guest is John Wood – The founder of Room to Read, an organization that has brought the lifelong gift of education to over 20 million children in 20 countries.
We spoke about his time in Microsoft and how he transitioned from a corporate career to the world of non-profit for social change.
“A lot of people out there will tell you that it’s crazy sacrificing your financial stability, but I think the world needs business leaders to devote themselves to social change. There are so many problems in the world that are not getting solved.”
“Go for it! It’s not easy. It’s not a clear path. There will be challenges, but we have only one life to live.”
John has just founded his second social venture U-Go. It provides financial scholarships to young women in low-income countries to pursue higher education.
Please tune in to hear his inspiring story and learn how to turn ideas into reality.
